AFDO organises various training, conferences and events each year for our members, people with disability, not-for-profit disability organisations, businesses and the general public. Our events will be listed on this page throughout the year.
AFDO Advocacy Forum, 22nd October 2018, 11am – 3pm
This Forum is an opportunity for people with disability, families and carers to listen to self-advocates as they speak about their journey, how they became a self-advocate, and why self-advocacy matters. This Forum will also include a range of speakers talking about systemic advocacy as they tell us why we need systemic disability advocacy organisations in Australia. Join us in celebrating advocacy, individual, systemic, and self-advocacy as we showcase a range of speakers sharing their stories, and most importantly, how to become a disability advocate. Follow this link for more information and to Register.
AFDO Annual General Meeting, 22nd October 2018, 3:30pm – 4:30pm
The AFDO AGM is a public event and will be held immediately following our Advocacy Forum on Monday 22nd October at the Jasper Hotel, 489 Elizabeth St, Melb. Only Full member organisations are eligible to vote at our AGM. However, it is open to everyone to attend.
NDIS Workshops – Victoria
We are running ‘Understanding the NDIS’ workshops for people with disability and their families. We are also running workshops for small, user-led community organisations. These NDIS workshops are about the Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) part of the NDIS.
To sign up for an NDIS workshop, please visit our Disability Loop Events page. Disability Loop is our website dedicated to the NDIS.
